Free Louisiana works to ensure that Louisiana peacefully separates herself from the influences of the U.S. West & East Coasts on the governance of the citizens of Louisiana. Our movement is dedicated to empowering the citizens of Louisiana with the tools and knowledge needed to assert our sovereignty and enhance our self-reliance. We champion the preservation of Louisiana’s values, freedoms, and unique assortment of cultures, so that her citizens may govern themselves under God, free from federal constraints.

Our Vision

Imagine a future where Louisiana stands as her own nation, with policies that flow directly from the needs and will of our people, rather than from mandates from afar. Envision our economy thriving through local resources and ingenuity, and our children flourishing in an education system that embodies our values and aspirations. At Free Louisiana, we see this vision as our destiny and our duty.

Larkin Jackson, president

Larkin Jackson is a sixth-generation Louisianan, an entrepreneur, and a youth pastor at Southshore Baptist Church in Jefferson Parish. He works for a free Louisiana with a vision to preserve American freedoms for future generations. Rooted in his strong Christian faith, Larkin is building a powerful statewide coalition to advocate for Louisiana’s independence. He emphasizes the importance of self-governance and believes that unity and Divine guidance are crucial for success.

“We can only do this together—and we can only do this with God’s help. Join us on this journey!”

Hy McEnery, vice-president

Hy McEnery is a Southern Baptist minister who leads LAMB Ministries, which provides academic tutoring, spiritual guidance, and emotional counseling to impoverished youth. LAMB Ministries also distributes food, clothing, and supplies to many needy New Orleans families.

McEnery is a political radio talk-show host of The Founders’ Show, one of the larger talk shows in the Greater New Orleans area. He was a member of Army Special Forces serving in Afghanistan.

His prayer for Louisiana is “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chron. 7:14

What we aren’t

Free Louisiana is not a political party, so our role is not to make policy for the future self-governing republic of Louisiana. The future elected government of Louisiana will do that. As activists, our role is not to try to “take over,” but to persuade anyone with influence that independence is the best path forward for Louisiana.

The only thing that unites our volunteers, leadership, and donors is the single goal of Louisiana independence, and perhaps a few state sovereignty bills that might smooth the way toward that goal. We are open to the participation of any Louisiana citizen, of any ethnicity, belief, or party, who genuinely works or donates toward this goal.

Currently, Louisiana voters don’t give enough attention to state elections because they’re distracted by federal elections, as federal politicians make most decisions. That will change if the issue of Louisiana independence rises in prominence. We invite Louisianans to choose candidates who will have the courage to put Louisiana first.
