Governor Landry signed HB 797, the Bayou Gold Program, this month, written by Rep. Raymond Crews. It authorizes Louisiana government to certify private companies to allow Louisianans to hold & make electronic payments in gold or silver instead of the fed’s dollars
HB 610 would have allowed the state treasurer to invest up to 10% of state government’s funds in gold to preserve independence from federal failures. We will try again next year.
